I’m Jay Wolfe, a private chef + culinary consultant with over 15 years of experience as a true cook and Edible Storyteller. I create what I call global comfort food—blending flavors and ingredients from around the world with a healthy, farm-to-table approach.
In 2011, a last-minute trip to Thailand changed everything. I experienced my first farm-to-table cooking class, and the rest was history. In Bangkok, I continued taking culinary classes, where I had the rare opportunity to study the intricacies of Royal Thai Cuisine.
I went back home to the U.S. in 2013, honing my craft in kitchens across Metro Atlanta. I worked my way up from garde manger to chef de cuisine, all while dabbling in catering.
In 2015, I met Kristen Hard, founder of Cacao Atlanta Chocolate Company, a real-life “Willy Wonka” who mentored me in recipe development, ingredient sourcing, and entrepreneurship. Between Cacao in Atlanta and growing my private chef clientele in LA, I was working around the clock—but I loved every second of it.
By 2017, I was balancing life as a personal chef for high-profile clients by day and curating private events between LA and ATL by night.
In 2020, I stepped into consulting when a colleague launched a ghost kitchen. Then COVID-19 hit, and everything changed. With the industry flipped upside down, we leaned into the food delivery boom, launching multiple virtual restaurant concepts in LA.

At the same time, I asked myself, “If I could do anything, what would it be?” The answer: Make burgers. So I set out to recreate the old-school LA burgers I grew up with—elevated, but still nostalgic—and THICC Burger was born. Over the next three years, I traveled the country flipping burgers at massive festivals like One Music Fest and building community when we all needed it most.
In 2023, I competed in the Original Farmers Market New Originals contest and won, securing my very own pop-up space in the historic LA market. We opened that summer and gave it everything for a year—living the dream.
Now, I split my time between private chef work and restaurant consulting. In 2024, I created the menu and consulted on Hiatus Kaiyote’s Love Heart Cheat Code pop-up in LA’s Chinatown and curated exclusive private dining and supper club experiences with Mouthfeel.
My background is in American Southern, Thai, and Afro-Mexican cuisines, with a focus on bold, soulful flavors. Whether it’s in-home private dining, catering, or recipe development for brands, I bring creativity, expertise, and a deep love for food to the table. Let’s EAT!
